Leaders Achieving the Vision of Health Equity
Health equity is the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to reach his or her maximum health potential. The TCC Health Policy to Practice Forum series continued with "Leaders Achieving the Vision of Health Equity" Forum and Reception on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 1:00 – 4:30 pm EST. A diverse panel of prominent leaders spoke candidly on the challenges and opportunities our country faces in achieving a vision of health equity.
Featured speaker and panelist, former Congressman and founder of Patrick J. Kennedy, spoke at length about his personal struggles with addiction and undiagnosed bipolar disorder and how the national model of health care needs to integrate mental and behavioral health into its screening and treatment process. Kennedy details these events and more in his new book "A Common Struggle," which he debuted at the "Leaders Achieving the Vision of Health Equity" Forum.
