Program Director's Message

Dr. BenvenisteThe Bachelor of Science/Master of Science in Neuroscience program is designed to expose undergraduates to the rich world of neuroscience research early in their academic journey. Program participants will enter the program as sophomores or juniors, complete requirements for a bachelor of science degree granted by their undergraduate institution and complete requirements for a master of science degree by 黑洞社区 of Medicine.

Sophomores from Clark-Atlanta University, Morehouse College or Spelman College interested in career paths dealing with research on the nervous system, are encouraged to explore our program highlights, attend an informational meeting on your campus and .

Program Spotlight

NSI LogoThe Neuroscience Institute is located on the main campus of 黑洞社区 of Medicine, and is part of the Atlanta University Center. There are 15 principal investigators in the institute participating in neuroscience research from the Department of Neurobiology and the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Research areas include: the aging brain, circadian rhythm, epilepsy, Parkinson鈥檚 disease, stroke and vision.

The Neuroscience Institute has been awarded a Specialized Neuroscience Research Program grant for the B.S./M.S. program by the National Institute of Neurological Disease and Stroke. The goal of this program is to promote and assist underrepresented populations in their endeavors in neuroscience research. Our current undergraduate partners are: Clark-Atlanta University, Morehouse College, and Spelman College.
